Important Notes
- Input voltage must be at least 7V (5V + 2V dropout)
- Heat dissipation = (Vin – 5V) x Iout – use heatsink if >0.5W
- Add 0.33μF input and 0.1μF output capacitors for stability
- Tab is connected to GND – can mount directly to chassis
- For high current, consider switching regulator (more efficient)
- 78L05 in TO-92 package available for low current (100mA)
